I had to paint my first breakfast in the formal Italian garden of my hotel, Palazzo Ravizza, in Siena, Italy. It was cappuccino, of course, with tiny mozzarella balls on delicious red tomatoes. My table was at the garden wall and with the resident garden turtle, Fernando Ravizza. I looked out over the vast landscape of this hill town to the distant mountains on the Mediterranean Sea. Ravizza Garden: a magical place.
