Description
This is my photo of the graceful Ha' Penney bridge over the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland. Two hundred years ago there were 7 ferries to carry people across this river, The ferries, owned by Mr. Walsh, were in very bad condition. The city commanded him to fix them or build a pedestrian bridge, which he did. He was granted the right to charge a ha' penny for anyone using the bridge for 100 years to heop pay for it and turnstiles were placed at both ends of the bridge.
