I photographed millions and jullions of Lilly Pads during our travels on the Royal Canal in Ireland. They and very nice to look at, but clog the canal, the locks and get tangled in the propellers of the boats. Waterways of Ireland has machines that look like little square houses that are weed wackers, or lilly pad wackers. Someone drives them along side of the banks of the canal to try to keep them under control.
